The senator named three Russian conditions for the unification of Transnistria and Moldova
Russia will support the return of Transnistria to Moldova if the new authorities of this country offer an acceptable model for such a unification.

Oleg Morozov, a member of the Federation Council Committee on International Relations, stated this today, speaking to young politicians in Russia, the CIS and far abroad.
“We have always said that we are for the territorial integrity of Moldova. But there was no clear understanding of how this could be connected. The formula that was proposed did not meet the interests of Transnistria and Russia and could give rise to a new armed conflict. If the new government professes good-neighborly strategic relations with Russia, conducts an equal dialogue with Europe and offers a comfortable option for Pridnestrovie to preserve the country, Russia will not object to this,” Morozov said.
He praised the election program of Igor Dodon, who is still the leader in the presidential race in Moldova.
“I like your leader’s rhetoric because he does not deny European integration as such. He does not contrast Russia and Europe. He says it is wrong to focus only on Romania and Europe and deny Russia as a historical partner. We would like the government that will be elected by the Moldovan people to build strategic partnerships with Russia,” Morozov said, adding that Russia would not approve of a forceful revision of the election results.
“If an orange mess breaks out there, Russia will have its say through acceptable means. We definitely won't support this. You understand who could be behind this,” Morozov added.
