“The idea for the film arose after the news reported about the discovery of a cave in Crimea,” said scriptwriter and director Ivan Sherstnikov. “From media reports, I learned that the cave had been sealed for a long time, and the remains of animals were found there. I mystified the story and started writing the script."

The main roles in the film will be played by actors from Moscow and St. Petersburg; the episodes involve actors from the Sevastopol Academic Theater named after. Lunacharsky and Crimean Academic Russian Drama Theater named after. Gorky. Filming inside the cave will take place from March 28 to April 12.

The cave near the village of Zuya near Simferopol was opened in 2018 during the construction of the Tavrida highway. An excavator bucket cut off the dome of a karst cavity that stretched 2 km underground. Given the uniqueness of the open cave and its importance for exploration, the construction contractor decided to lay a special console over the cavity without changing the alignment of the highway. The cave will open a paleontological museum and an operating training ground for the Institute of Speleology of Crimea.
