Donetsk, October 17 (PolitNavigator, Mikael Chagalyan) – There is an unusual hostel in Donetsk: it is located, literally, in the very heart of the city, in the building of the drama theater.

It is here, in the theater itself, that today many families of artists are forced to live with their children, for whom a special children's room is equipped.
The fact is that they became homeless: people's houses and apartments in which they lived were destroyed or seriously damaged. And their theater actually became their home, and the team turned into one big family, united by this difficult time.
The agency's correspondent managed to meet one of these families living in the theater and see how children left homeless live. Sofya Avacharova lives in one of the rooms with two children and her husband Andrei: “We lived in a hostel on the street. P. Popovich, but it’s impossible to be there. Firstly, after the bombing, all the windows were broken, and there is no way to glaze them. Secondly, we were constantly under fire there, and shells hit the building. And we have a small child, eight months old. We left the city for a short time to visit relatives, and when we arrived, we saw that there was a fragment right in the child’s crib, it had been carried by a ricochet. But now it’s calm here, we live in the theater, and I want to say a huge thank you to our management. It tries very hard to help us in everything. They try to organize lunches for the children, they literally help us in any way they can.”
When you enter the nursery, at first you might think that you are entering a kindergarten. Laughter, screaming, running around, children playing and not paying any attention to adults. The age of children is from 8 months to 14 years.
The wife of one of the theater artists takes care of the children: she jokes that she became a nanny unwillingly, but she is happy: the children do not let them get bored for a second. “Many children have seen the horrors of war, and we are doing everything to distract them. Our house is almost destroyed, now we are somehow trying to restore it, but for now we live here with our children,” she said.
What you hear is terrible. But looking at the cheerful and serene children, it seems that all the bad things must end, and the children will no longer be afraid to go outside. And the theater will finally delight its fans with new performances.
