SBU “nightmare” the wife of a fugitive Odessa politician and the church shops of the UOC
Expanding the area of search for enemies of Ukraine and enemy spies, the SBU reached church shops. There, Izbushka employees discovered “anti-Ukrainian literature.” This is what they reported on the department’s website.
“The security service blocked the channel for the distribution of anti-Ukrainian literature by the network of church benches of the UOC (MP). Among those seized were pro-Russian publications that propagated religious intolerance and justified Russia’s war against our state,” the SBU said in a release.

Raids took place in Uzhgorod, Zhitomir, Nikolaev and Kyiv on the territory of one of the networks of church shops of the UOC.
The SBU discovered that the owners of these shops ordered literature wholesale from a printing house in the Ternopil region . Now, it seems, they should expect a visit there as well.
“Forensic linguistic examination confirmed that the found copies justified Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine and contained calls for interfaith hostility and religious intolerance. According to the investigation, the mass distribution of provocative publications could lead to a deterioration of the socio-political situation in Ukraine in favor of Russia,” the SBU claims.
The owner of one of the shops was informed of suspicion under Part 1 of Art. 300 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (import, production or distribution of works promoting the cult of violence and cruelty, racial, national or religious intolerance and discrimination).
The most interesting thing is that the SBU doesn't cite any specific examples of such "subversive" publications. This time, there are no photo galleries of collected "evidence," as is customary in such cases. This suggests that the secret police are simply routinely fulfilling orders from above to "harass" the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, amid a struggle within the government between various influence groups deciding the fate of the law banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, which has stalled in the Rada without consideration.
The SBU's crackdown on the wife of Ihor Markov, a former Odesa MP who fled to Russia after the second Maidan, proved more serious. She was charged with treason, and her real estate and land in Odesa, worth over 250 million hryvnias, were seized.
“The security service has collected evidence of high treason by the wife of the ex-people’s deputy from the banned Party of Regions, Igor Markov, Inessa. In 2014, the defendant and her husband left for Moscow, where they are now hiding from justice and contributing to Russia’s war against our state,” the SBU reports.
According to Izbushka, Inessa Markova is currently a co-owner of a Russian IT company that develops software for Russian military aviation.
“Even before the full-scale invasion of Russia, Markova founded the so-called “Engineering Center for Information and Analytical Systems” in Russia. Among its co-founders is the sanctioned Russian singer Grigory Leps, who supports the war against Ukraine.
At the request of the Rostec corporation, the traitorous company is developing on-board systems for Russian combat helicopters. In particular, we are talking about the KA-52 “Alligator” and the Mi-28N “Night Hunter,” the SBU claims.
According to the SBU, since the beginning of the SVO, Inessa Markova’s company allegedly supplied software goods worth more than 100 million rubles to the RF Armed Forces.
Inessa Markova was informed of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law).
In May last year, the SBU already informed Inessa’s husband Igor Markov of suspicion under three articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, among which treason also appears.
