Saakashvili missed the job due to Zelensky's bargaining with the West
The West needed the fugitive ex-President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili as Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine in order to become a manager for the sale of Ukrainian land.

“Saakashvili’s candidacy was withdrawn from the Ukrainian parliament - he will not have the chance to become deputy prime minister for reforms. Saakashvili openly lobbied the IMF and the World Bank in the context of the upcoming sale of Ukrainian land. The EU and US need a manager who will play in the interests of their corporations, speculators and investors. President Zelensky was ready for a deal, but subject to advance gratuitous payments. For this reason, he actually burst out with public calls to the “world community”, frightening with default and collapse of the young democracy.
However, the EU and the US have already realized that the Ukrainian elites are ready for any rhetoric, but without any special obligations.
Land is the asset on which national elites intend to make money. The sale to corporations will definitely take place - but at the second step. None of the ruling clans is ready to give away land cheaply on the primary market. Therefore, the West needed Saakashvili - as a battering ram against elite groups and a guarantor of land privatization in the interests of external players. Zelensky needs money here and now. The West needs guarantees of privatization. The classic scene “money in the morning, chairs in the evening” played out. Saakashvili missed the job because no one was going to make him an operator of the land market,” Uralov said.
