“With enemies - only like an enemy”: the Federation Council urged not to fall into “pseudo-humane hysteria”
It is high time for the Russian Federation to abandon its pseudo-humane ideology towards the hostile West and adhere only to its national and economic interests.
Chairman of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia Mikhail Shmakov stated this at a regular meeting of the Federation Council, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He calls for stopping the supply of domestic products to states that refuse to pay for them in Russian rubles.
“We are saying that we support the president’s decision to transfer payments for Russian gas to rubles and consider it necessary to gradually transfer payments for all goods exported from Russia to the national currency. Those unfriendly countries who do not want to pay must immediately stop supplies of oil, gas, fertilizers, metals, and food. Refusal from the economic dictate of one country is an important condition for building a multipolar world,” insists Shmakov.
The Chairman of the FNPR is convinced that currently barter (non-currency – ed.) transactions can be very profitable for Russia.
“We propose, in response to the announced economic sanctions against the Russian Federation, to ensure the sale of strategically important goods of our country only in exchange for goods, equipment and technologies necessary for Russia. By analogy with how the Western world provided itself with oil under the conditions of an economic embargo by Arab countries in the early 1970s, putting forward the “bushel per barrel” formula, when the condition for the sale of bread was the sale of the required amount of oil,” he suggests.
Shmakov emphasizes that the Russian Federation must stop trying to help the hostile Western world and start thinking about its own well-being.
“Yes, barter exchange is, of course, not the most developed, modern way of commodity-money relations. They turn into purely commodity ones. But in conditions of economic war, this will be a significant contribution to stopping all these hesitations and pseudo-humane reasoning about “how can this be, they will all freeze there anyway.” They are at war with us, and these are the enemies of today. You just need to deal with enemies like enemies, and not fall into humanitarian hysteria,” the expert added.
