The bread market is going into the shadows and shrinking due to the situation in Ukraine
Kyiv, June 12 (Navigator, Vladimir Mikhailov) – Bread production has fallen in Ukraine, the reason was the contraction of the market and its “shadowing”.
Throughout Ukraine, bread production decreased by 6.4% over the year. Such figures were announced at a press conference by Rodion Rybchinsky, editor-in-chief of the magazine “Grain Storage and Processing.”

“The catalyst for this was the problems in the east, in the Donbass,” he says. Thus, in the Donetsk region the reduction compared to four months of last year was 6.6% - from 41.5 thousand tons to 38.8 thousand tons, and in the Lugansk region - 2%, from 18.8 thousand tons to 18.5 thousand.
“Of course, it cannot be clearly said that everyone just stopped baking bread. It is clear that they also stopped reporting. In today's situation this can be done quite calmly. But, on the other hand, it is absolutely clear that this is a natural reaction of the market to events such as Maidan,” says Rodion Rybchinsky.
