Rotenberg promised Putin to launch the Crimean Bridge by May
Russian President Vladimir Putin is visiting Crimea today. The visit began with an inspection of the Crimean Bridge, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Putin flew to the island of Tuzla by helicopter. Then the president was taken by minibus to the road arch - the largest span of the bridge under which ships can pass. There he listened to a report on the progress of work and talked with the builders, Kryminform reports.

The President also inspected the finished section of the road part of the bridge under construction.
“The longest bridge in Europe. An interesting object, powerful and even completed ahead of schedule. I would like, of course, that people could take advantage of it already in the summer season,” Putin said.
The head of the contractor company, Arkady Rotenberg, confirmed that this is possible.
“Yes, we’ll try by May,” Rotenberg said.
Construction of the bridge has been underway since February 2016. Car traffic is scheduled to open in 2018, train traffic in 2019. The bridge's capacity is 40 thousand cars and 47 pairs of trains per day, 14 million passengers and 13 million tons of cargo per year.
Rotenberg promised Putin to open the Crimean Bridge by May.
