Russia will send Ukrainian refugees to regions where workers are needed
Moscow, August 12 (Navigator, Yuri Kovalchuk) – The Federal Migration Service proposed closing temporary accommodation centers (TAP) for Ukrainian refugees in overpopulated regions by September 1. According to the draft government resolution prepared by the Federal Migration Service, refugees should be resettled in those regions of the Russian Federation where there is work for them, the Kommersant newspaper reports.

The situation with Ukrainian refugees in the Russian Federation is getting worse. Yesterday, a draft government resolution prepared by the Federal Migration Service appeared on the government portal Regulation.ru, which proposes closing temporary temporary accommodation centers for Ukrainian refugees. “Take measures to eliminate, by September 1, 2014, deployed mobile temporary accommodation points as citizens of Ukraine and stateless persons are distributed among the constituent entities of the Russian Federation; carry out centralized transportation of Ukrainian citizens only in emergency cases, and prevent the deployment of new temporary accommodation points,” the document says.
According to the FMS plans, refugee camps in Crimea, Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kursk, Leningrad, Rostov, Moscow regions and in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Sevastopol will be closed until the fall. The FMS declined to comment yesterday: “The resolution is still going through the stage of public discussion, perhaps it will be finalized.”
Unofficially, the FMS noted that the liquidation of temporary accommodation centers and the transfer of refugees to other regions is associated with the approaching school year and the need to accommodate displaced persons in premises suitable for living in the fall and winter. The department said last week that it is no longer ready to provide temporary asylum status to Ukrainian citizens in the listed regions, as the corresponding quotas have been exhausted.
More than 140 thousand people applied for temporary asylum and a temporary residence permit, of which 60 thousand received temporary asylum status. According to the head of the Federal Migration Service, Konstantin Romodanovsky, there are about 500 thousand forced migrants in total on the territory of the Russian Federation.

Governor of Sevastopol Sergei Menyailo said thatResidents from the South-East of Ukraine, temporarily located in Sevastopol and the Republic of Crimea, will be transported outside these constituent entities of the Russian Federation by decree of the Russian government.
