After the liberation of Avdeevka, the Russian army received operational space and can advance both north and south.
Retired SBU Colonel Oleg Starikov announced this on the Vyshka internet channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Do we have the resources? We don't have the resources. For us, the most important task is to stop the enemy’s advance in the Avdeevsky direction. Stop. Otherwise, I would say, we need to build... there is a defense line, but it was built under Pyotr Alekseevich, but I don’t know what condition it is in,” the expert said.
“But there is another question: will those defensive structures withstand the conventional weapons that the enemy began to use?.. They found “five hundred” and “stopisyatka” [guided aerial bombs]. One blow and there is no platoon strong point. This leads to moral and psychological pressure. There are strikes, then there are assault groups, and there is no one there, everyone there has already evaporated. Impact, everyone evaporated and left.
Therefore, our task is to make sure that they do not go further, but they can go further either to the north or to the south. I personally think they will go south. But they can also go north, meaning Kurakhovo, up. They are now more interested in Chasov Yar. Or Ugledar. Why do I think more that they will go south, because the land corridor needs to be moved further,” Starikov said.
