According to one of the most influential French newspapers, Ouest-France, 400 Russian sailors have been training in Saint-Nazaire since June 30. Tomorrow's departure to sea for maneuvers that will last until September 22 will be their first time on this helicopter carrier.
The second trip to sea is scheduled for the period from September 23 to October 2. The transfer of the first Mistral-class ship to Russia was scheduled for November 1, but due to the situation in Ukraine, this decision is in question.
As PolitNavigator reported, in early September France suspended the delivery of the first Mistral-class amphibious helicopter carrier to the Russian Navy in protest against Moscow's actions towards Ukraine. The French President will make the final decision at the end of October.
