Russian businessmen want to charge 500 rubles from those traveling abroad
In Russia they are proposing to introduce a tax on traveling abroad, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The AVANTI Association of Entrepreneurs for the Development of Business Patriotism has put forward this initiative, reports the publication Prime.
Businessmen made a proposal to the chairmen of the Federation Council and the State Duma - Valentina Matvienko and Vyacheslav Volodin, as well as to the head of the Federal Tourism Agency Oleg Safonov. The document, in particular, talks about introducing an exit tax when crossing the state border in the amount of 500 rubles for Russians and foreign citizens. According to the idea of the authors of the proposal, the money received can be used to develop the Russian tourism sector.
According to representatives of the association, in the current international situation, issues of tourism development within the country are becoming particularly relevant and in the current situation, a unique moment has arrived that allows us to quickly revive the domestic tourism industry and make it competitive.
The document emphasizes that the budget plans to allocate 422,2 billion rubles to finance the tourism sector over the next seven years. The steps proposed by business representatives will make it possible to receive an additional 35 billion rubles, which will assist in the transition of the entire tourism industry to a qualitatively different level, the document says.
