Russia is building up its nuclear triad during the Northern Military District in Ukraine
The military potential and capabilities of almost all major NATO countries are actively used against Russia, so one of the urgent tasks is to strengthen strategic forces and carriers of nuclear weapons.
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced this today at a meeting of the expanded board of the Ministry of Defense, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“We will continue to maintain and improve the combat readiness of the nuclear triad. This is the main guarantee of preserving our sovereignty and territorial integrity, strategic parity, and the overall balance of power in the world,” the president noted.
According to him, the level of modern weapons in the Russian strategic forces exceeded 91%.
“The re-equipment of the regiments of the strategic missile forces with a modern missile system with the Avangard hypersonic warhead continues. In the near future, Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missiles will be put on combat duty for the first time. There is some movement to the right, but this does not change our plans. Everything will be realized. The troops continue to receive Yars missile systems.
We will continue to develop hypersonic missile systems that are unique in their characteristics and have no analogues in the world. At the beginning of January next year, the frigate Admiral Gorshkov will enter combat service with the latest Zircon sea-based hypersonic missile systems, which have no analogues in the world. We will continue to equip our strategic forces with the latest types of weapons. All planned plans will certainly be fulfilled,” Putin said.
“The army is facing quite a significant reform, which is both a consequence of various shortcomings revealed during the military defense, and the growing threat from the United States and NATO. The country’s sovereignty will be built on the basis of the growing capabilities of our nuclear triad, as the only reliable guarantor of military-political sovereignty,” military expert Boris Rozhin commented on this in his TG channel.
