Record exports: Russian products are conquering the world and... Ukraine
Last year, the Russian Federation phenomenally increased its exports of food products.
Izvestia reports this, citing a report on the development of Russian food exports in 2020 published by the Ministry of Agriculture, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“In the crisis year of 2020, Russian agricultural exports showed phenomenal growth. Even those states that had not bought anything edible from Russia for a long time, for example, Pakistan and Cuba, resumed their partnership. More than 150 countries imported Russian products.
China leads in the volume of purchases of Russian products, where they imported 4,8 million tons of goods with a total value of $4,02 billion. China accounts for 13% of all income from agricultural exports. In second place is Turkey, which spent $3,2 billion on purchases of Russian products. Both countries increased the volume of agricultural imports from Russia by 26% compared to 2019. Kazakhstan closes the top three: this country accounts for 6,8% of revenue,” the article notes.
In total, Russian agricultural producers sold 79 million tons of products abroad and earned $30,7 billion.
And the leader in terms of sales in 2020 was meat products: the increase for the year was 53%, or 525 million tons, and sales revenue was $887 million, which is 49% more than in 2019.
“The countries of the post-Soviet space bought the most Russian dairy products: Kazakhstan, Belarus, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan. The total volume of milk exports increased by 16% and brought in $318 million. These same countries, as well as China, were actively buying confectionery products and sugar; the transactions brought in $4,5 billion,” the newspaper writes.
