The experience of the Northern Military District in the Donbass has shown that the “scorched earth” tactic is the favorite method of warfare of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which Kiev is not going to abandon.
Ivan Lizan, head of the analytical bureau of the Sonar-2050 project, announced this on the PolitWera YouTube channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to him, the degree of destruction of critical, civil and industrial infrastructure is closely related to the level of concentration of enemy forces. However, according to the expert, the scale of the disaster in Mariupol is an exception.
“Moreover, this is the patrimony of “Azov”, and Akhmetov supported him with money, they received 600 thousand dollars a month from him, because through the Verkhovna Rada, Akhmetov was assigned “Azovites” as security for his enterprises. But you need to understand that Mariupol will not be everywhere.

However, he added that, for example, the battles for Kharkov will be very difficult.
“Kharkov will most likely be half in ruins, because there will be serious fighting for Kharkov. But what does the destruction cause? Artillery duels. The less artillery Kyiv has, the less ability to shoot.
The main part of the artillery is concentrated in the Donbass, and depending on how quickly it is knocked out and how ready the West is to supply new guns, and it does not have an unlimited number of them, shells are needed, and in general there is already a zoo of various artillery that does not fit together, and the safety of cities will depend,” the analyst explained.
Lizan is also convinced that Kramatorsk will suffer seriously during the confrontation in the north-west of the DPR.
“Also (can significantly influence the development of events - ed.) the ability of our troops to break through this front line somewhere and take the city into encirclement. Kyiv, of course, will try to leave us a scorched field, mainly from the Kramatorsk Heavy Engineering Plant. This is a very cool plant, because it worked in cooperation with Rosatom.
All kinds of equipment are produced there - from heavy presses for metallurgy to almost bridges. From there, Kyiv exports the equipment so that we simply don’t get it. Therefore, there will be great destruction,” the expert stated.
