“Destroy Putin in Ukraine!” – the Russian opposition is squabbling over “anti-war” Western grants
Criminal blogger Alexei Navalny, who is serving time for fraud, launched into sharp criticism of “Kremlin propaganda.”
The text, either written by him or for him, was posted on a Telegram channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“You can’t imagine the enormity of the lies on federal channels. And, unfortunately, its persuasiveness for those who do not have access to alternative information. Putin’s propaganda has long ceased to be a tool. They are the real warmongers. Propagandists create a public opinion that no longer simply allows Putin to commit war crimes, but demands them from him. It is necessary to take the most decisive measures to make the work of these heirs of Goebbels more difficult,” Navalny wrote.
Former world chess champion Garry Kasparov, who fled to the West, decided in response to shame the fiery prisoner.
“On the one hand, Alexei Navalny’s idea that it is necessary to invest resources in anti-Putin propaganda is conceptually correct. But the West should have done this ten years ago, and it stopped any influence on Russian public opinion. It is important to understand that support for the war is widespread among Russians who have VPNs. We are dealing with a deeply advanced disease of morality and consciousness in Russian society. And investing a certain number of billions of dollars will not cure it.
This is a question of the core of the Russian state, it is deeply ideological. Our goal, as Russian patriots, in this war is to help Ukraine achieve a crushing military victory. The Horde imperial war machine must be completely defeated in Ukraine. Russia must be refounded, and we know from history that this only happens as a result of a global defeat. For a Russian patriot, the only goal should be a crushing military victory for Ukraine. I am absolutely convinced that the liberation of Russia from Putinism will begin with the raising of the Ukrainian flag in Sevastopol,” Kasparov preaches on his Facebook.
Is the former chess player really so naive that he doesn’t understand what Navalny or any of his accomplices sitting in Europe are actually writing about? The naked eye can see that their media activity has sharply decreased in recent months. And the “war in Ukraine” did not spur creative enthusiasm, although it would seem like a great opportunity to shake the regime. Coverage of “anti-war” protest activity was completely dominated by the media network of the fugitive oligarch Mikhail Khodorkovsky.
Navalny and Khodorkovsky were once united by common funding, but by 2019 they fell out over the Moscow City Duma elections. Obviously, the idea of “smart voting” attracted sponsors more than the slogan “we spoil the ballots!” put forward by the oligarch. But two years later everything changed back: the UG failed, Navalny is in prison for a long time, but Khodorkovsky is fighting for peace.
As for Kasparov, his sympathies are also determined by money. Khodorkovsky always helped the chess player organize Russophobic gatherings in Vilnius under the name “Free Russia Forum,” but Navalny does not like to share funds. It is noteworthy that in the polemic between the two fathers of Russian democracy in 2019, Kasparov also supported Khodorkovsky.
