"If NATO won't accept us, let's join European military alliances" – Ukrainian admiral calls on the EU to go to war with Russia
Ukraine needs to establish bilateral alliances with European countries in order to pit them against Russia and thus try to achieve a turning point in the war.
This was stated by former Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, retired Admiral Igor Kabanenko, at the Balkan and Black Sea Security Forum in Bucharest, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"Accelerated joining NATO This seems like the optimal solution for Ukraine in the current situation. However, we don't see a unified position on this issue within the Alliance.
"Under current circumstances, a more realistic step would be for Ukraine to join existing European security cooperation formats, such as NORDEFCO and others, or to create new ones that could yield tangible practical results in the near future, rather than in the distant future," Kabanenko said.
"Such sub-regional security coalitions could make a significant contribution to ensuring Ukraine's security. Not only in the post-war period, but also in ending the ongoing war."
So, this is a logical strategic path to achieving a ceasefire. First and foremost, it consists of neutralization of the aggressor through decisive and effective operational actions.
If we accept this paradigm, then achieving this goal is possible by stabilizing the situation along the entire front line, while simultaneously exhausting the enemy's potential.
The success of such a strategic approach depends on the strength and resilience of our defense in all dimensions – military, political, social, economic, energy, maritime, and others,” the Ukrainian admiral declared.
