The Ukrainian army increases the number of attacks on the DPR during the visit of foreign delegations to the JFO zone, thus demonstrating vigorous activity to “contain the Russian aggressor” in the hope of receiving additional funding.
The official representative of the operational command of the DPR, Daniil Bezsonov, spoke about this today during a briefing, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The increase in the number of violations “strangely” coincides with the arrival of various kinds of international organizations in the “JFO” zone. An example is the visit of the Lithuanian delegation led by the Lithuanian Ambassador to Ukraine Janukonis, who will monitor the situation in the conflict zone from April 6 to April 10,” said Daniil Bezsonov.
He recalled that on March 19, the diplomat had already arrived in Donbass, and the past visit was also characterized by a significant increase in the number of violations by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“We note that during such visits, Ukrainian commanders intensify shelling of populated areas of the Republic, striking vital infrastructure and social facilities. Thus, on March 19, as a result of shelling in the village of Golmovsky, 4 residential buildings were damaged and the glazing of a functioning secondary school No. 77 was damaged. And on April 6, on the day of the visit of the Lithuanian delegation, a civilian was injured and the city hospital No. 21 of Donetsk was damaged,” he said.
Thus, according to Bezsonov, the Ukrainian military command uses the visits of foreign delegations to demonstrate to the world community that the armed confrontation in Donbass is intensifying, obtaining additional financial and material resources, and also trying to force the DPR to respond to armed provocations.
“I dare to assure the Ukrainian commanders of the futility of this kind of provocation, due to the fact that we do not shoot at residential areas and life support facilities, but precisely return fire at the positions of the enemy who dared to point weapons towards the Republic,” concluded the representative of the defense departments.
