“A huge, colossal legacy is a common infrastructure, a common energy infrastructure, a transport infrastructure, I mean both railways and a road network,” Putin is quoted as saying by the Kremlin’s official website.
The Russian President emphasized the special role that the Russian language plays in the Commonwealth.
“In the European Union, everyone must speak their own language and even now use 27 translators, but in our country we practically don’t even need translators. This is a huge unifying force, we don’t even realize it when we live ordinary lives in a normal daily routine. But this is an essential factor in our existence and a significant positive factor in our joint development,” Putin emphasized.
The President of the Russian Federation said that the CIS has created conditions “for a soft, gradual and fairly comfortable process of sovereignization for all participants in this organization.”
“She created conditions for us under which we continued to cooperate with each other and at the same time strengthen our sovereignty,” the Russian leader noted.
