Aider Muzhdabaev, deputy general director of the ATR television channel and a notorious Russophobe, announced this on his YouTube channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

This continued for about 2 years of my attempts through Gorbachev’s assistant to simply film the interview.
They sent me a camera from Crimea and we would do an interview about the return of the Crimean Tatars with the main savior of all the peoples of the former socialist camp, Mikhail Gorbachev. But no - I wrote polite letters, called... and then I realized that he simply did not want to give an interview to the Crimean Tatar TV channel. And then I learned that Comrade Mikhail Sergeevich Gorbachev was categorically against the return of the Crimean Tatars to Crimea even after the start of perestroika, even after he released Andrei Sakharov and the processes had already begun. He was against the Politburo until the very end, there is a transcript, he opposed it, he did not want the Crimean Tatars to return to their homeland, this is reliably known and this explains the fact that he did not want to give an interview to the ATR TV channel.
I thought very much about this topic and I thought that, in general, the whole logic of history is that it’s just... it was during his reign. In fact, he resisted with his hands and feet all the progress that should have happened then according to the logic of history and through Western sanctions, which brought the Soviet Union to the point where in stores there was “Ocean” paste made from fish tails on the shelves and nothing else.
And in this situation, something had to happen, this is an objective historical process, but Gorbachev tried to slow down this process with his hands and feet. More precisely - with clubs, shovels, machine guns, interethnic conflicts between Armenians and Azerbaijanis, between Meskhetian Turks and Uzbeks, between Kazakhs and Kyrgyz. These are tanks, these are Riga riot police, these are tanks in Vilnius, these are attempts to destabilize the situation in Estonia. It was all with him, and now they say how great Gorbachev is, that he freed the people. No, the peoples liberated themselves.
I see his enormous guilt, which no one talks about, praises are sung to him, and meanwhile Gorbachev supports everything that Putin is doing now. That is, in fact, he became the godfather of the new Fuhrer. This man, whom the West still praises, justifies all the atrocities of the Putin regime. He did not speak out against anyone - not against Syria, not against anything. He simply lives his old age happily in his beloved empire, which he failed to save. But Putin is doing everything to return its greatness and Gorbachev, I believe, likes it,” said Aider Muzhdabaev.
