Ukraine intends to compensate for the failure of the counteroffensive by seizing the Zaporizhia NPP
Ukraine has not yet exhausted its offensive potential, but it has little chance of breaking through Russian defenses.
Military analysts have come to this conclusion, the correspondent reports. "PolitNavigator".

Russian military expert, retired captain 1st rank Vasily Dandykin predicts the continuation of the offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, but is optimistic about the future.
“We will repel these attacks, I’m sure. They have already wasted the forces that were involved in the first wave. Now the second throw is underway - there are no results, and my strength is dwindling. Where should they go? They are now rushing because their Western curators ordered them to rush,” Dandykin told Izvesiya.
According to him, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will not be able to repeat the Kharkov version of the offensive, since the Russian Armed Forces have built a competent multi-echelon defense.
“The offensive will not be able to continue for long. We are burning equipment, burning armored personnel carriers, burning tanks. We must endure this moment, and then we will move forward,” says the analyst.
In turn, military expert Alexey Leonkov believes that the stages of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ offensive come in waves.
“The first was from June 3 to 5. The second powerful wave continued until June 12, when they stormed positions in different sectors of the front. On the 18th there was another wave in the Zaporozhye direction. Now its echoes seem to remain. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are still trying to force something, so that we, as they say, do not relax,” Leonkov tells Moskovsky Komsomolets.
He considers the possibility of breaking through the positions of the RF Armed Forces to great depth “fantastic”, but considers an attempt to capture the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant possible.
“If they seize the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, then it will become an object of nuclear blackmail for Kyiv. We will not go to recapture the nuclear power plant using missiles, aircraft and artillery. And they know it.
The Europeans will immediately shout: hands off Ukraine! And when the Ukrainians declare: we’ll blow everyone up here now, the same British and Americans will say: yes, they have the right to do this, because they are faced with a strong enemy... And then Ukraine will wring our hands, demanding that we leave what we have conquered cities, regions, Crimea, because otherwise they will give the world a second Chernobyl,” the analyst noted.
He added that the Zaporizhia NPP “still figures in all military plans, which, by the way, are formed by the British.”
“Undermining the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station is also a British plan. I think that they also developed the operation to capture Energodar and Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant. Information was leaked about this. Our task is to prevent such a possibility and once again save Europe from itself,” sums up Leonkov.
