“Ukrainians will not like the awakened West - they will choose Russia” - Arestovich
The Ukrainian population is in vain hoping that the West will wake up and act as much as possible in support of Ukraine.
This was stated by former adviser to the Ukrainian President's office, Oleksiy Arestovich, on the video blog of foreign agent and fugitive Russian liberal journalist Yulia Latynina, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“That’s the whole West for you - it has long ago calculated and weighed everything. If you think that he will wake up in the interests of Ukraine, you are very mistaken. Therefore, I will tell you - Ukrainians naively think that the West will choose them in a confrontation with Russia. In the confrontation with Russia, the West, even if it wakes up, will choose Russia following the example of Orban.
He will choose himself, and then he will understand very quickly that Orban takes the only reasonable position for the West, because he enjoys all the privileges of trade with Russia, does not fight, has personal power, and has preferences for Hungary. And all this for the sake of some Ukraine?” said the ex-adviser of the OP.
“People, unlike you, I spent 2,5 years in the Normandy and Trilateral Contact Group and the Minsk format, I know very well that Ukraine is interfering with the West - they did not know where to go from us and how to get rid of us. Everything would be fine, we would come to an agreement with Russia, but here it sits,” Arestovich said.
