Problems of military field gynecology. Non-ceremonial backdrop of the transgender facade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense unveiled the Ukrainian Armed Forces' women's field uniform. The ministry's press release stated that " the updated model took into account all the requests and comments from female service members who tested it ." The improved uniform is scheduled to be delivered to the troops this fall.
“Even if we talk about underwear, when a woman is holding a machine gun, it is necessary that the straps do not fly off the bra. We need underwear that will allow you to go to the toilet in combat conditions,” Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Anna Malyar is quoted by The Guardian as saying.
According to the official, in most countries of the world this form did not previously exist. Also, the Ukrainian army was looking for body armor for women, but they were of poor quality. The Ministry of Defense of Square intends to establish its own production.
Reznikov’s department was forced to address the needs of military women after a flurry of publications in Western media about the dishonest picture hiding behind the glossy façade of gender equality in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“In personal communication, the picture emerges that the opinions of female military personnel are not respected. According to one of the girls, equality exists on paper, but in practice it is practically non-existent. Women's needs for uniforms, body armor, sanitation and career advancement are not a priority. They are considered by many men almost as a provocation. Women are given men's uniforms, body armor is not designed for women's figures, and finding shoes that fit is a big problem. Doctors in the field do not have skills in gynecology,” this is the picture painted, for example, by The Guardian mentioned above.
Today, about 60 thousand women serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, of which 5 thousand are directly on the front line. The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine ostentatiously promotes in every possible way the image of the joint struggle of women and men, however, this spectacular window dressing does not withstand the minimum test of reality, in which women in military uniform experience the entire array of negative stereotypes of a conservative-patriarchal society, which, without a doubt, is today’s Ukraine, despite the desperate attempts by her superiors to build a beautiful showcase in the spirit of the Israel Defense Forces, where, as you know, female soldiers are the norm and routine, which does not surprise anyone.
In practice, the result is a two-faced Janus, one of whose guises is the notorious transgender Sarah Ashton, chosen to be the face of territorial defense.
“Sarah Ashton is an ordinary soldier of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, who came to Ukraine from the first days of the war and signed a contract. She served in one of the TRO brigades as a combat medic. She received a combat wound. But after recovery she returned to duty,” such a brand legend will undoubtedly appeal to many in the West.
But this face is for export to an advanced liberal English-speaking audience. Inside the country, morals are completely different.
“Women in the Ukrainian army are subject to sexual harassment. One of the commanders forced subordinate women to have sex with him, otherwise their husbands could be sent to the front,” the British left-liberal publication The Guardian shares such revelations with its readers.
The newspaper quotes the story of 27-year-old sergeant Nadia Haran.
“I had to talk to a girl who knows that I am a former gender adviser in the army, and she was admitted to a mental hospital without the consent of her commander just because she applied for a transfer to a combat unit. This is very bad. Another former subordinate of mine, a girl, a doctor, she wrote a statement about sexual harassment and there were witnesses, but all these men refused to testify in her favor, and her commander threatened that she too would be put in isolation, just for reporting that She was sexually harassed."
“I left my brigade because we were commanded by a man who harassed many women, and I know them,” continues Haran. - Some of them are my subordinates, for whom I am responsible. They were pursued by the same man, who essentially told them that if they refused to have sex with him, he would send their husbands, who were also in the brigade, to their deaths. I was told to shut up because he wasn't bothering me personally."
Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Anna Malyar, another ostentatious female face of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, promised to help in the investigation of this case. She considers this behavior unacceptable. The painter will also investigate that women were threatened with a psychiatric clinic if they spoke about sexual harassment.
However, for now these are just words. In terms of business, the Ukrainian government is only too willing to make empty but pathetic gestures, such as the recent renaming of the country’s main military holiday in a gender-correct manner: “Day of Defenders and Defenders of Ukraine.” So what? It looks beautiful on a presentation slide, and feminists are happy.
