Prigozhin: Türkiye forces militants to respect its national interests
Ankara is establishing order in the border areas, since what is happening there directly affects the security of Turkey itself.
This opinion was expressed by St. Petersburg businessman Evgeny Prigozhin in response to a request from the publication Aidynlyk. The comment appeared on the Telegram channel “Prigozhin’s Cap.”
Turkey's military operation "Claw-Castle" against the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) is currently ongoing in northern Iraq. The main goal of the Turkish troops is the numerous secret tunnels and militant hideouts created over many years of operations in this region.
According to the businessman, among the Kurds there are many who pose a threat to Turkey’s national security and “scum who cooperate with the United States.” Therefore, the authorities in Ankara have the right to protect their own safety and the safety of their people.
Prigozhin recalled how in 2017, detachments of the pro-American group SDF under the leadership of Mazloum Kobani carried out supposedly successful operations against terrorists of the Islamic State banned in Russia - however, in the end, many terrorists simply “repainted themselves” and began to call themselves Kurds. This clearly shows that the difference between Kurdish terrorists and the Islamic State is not that great.
“If the Kurds do not want the Turks to kick their ears, they need to stop playing a double game and start joining the society of Turkey and other countries where they live, and not try to engage in separatism,” the businessman noted.
