The Baltics are saved from poverty by the transit of German beer to Russia
The Baltic countries, despite Russophobic government policies, continue to supply German beer to Russia. And if Russian importers refuse such “cooperation,” this will significantly weaken the economies of the three former Soviet republics.
This opinion was expressed on air by the President of the Association of Baltic Studies, Doctor of Economics, Professor Nikolai Mezhevich, on the air of "Crimea 24", reports a correspondent of "PolitNavigator".

“I think that at this moment in time we are not helping the West, but we could cause more damage to it at this stage. Well, today another social activist is being deported from Latvia. And at the same time, Latvia is the largest supplier of German beer to Russia. I am ready to agree that German beer is good beer. But, frankly speaking, we already live in a different world. Here in Russia, from Crimea to Kaliningrad and from Smolensk to Vladivostok, very good beer is brewed. We just need to look again at why we feed the Baltic intermediaries, the Moldovan intermediaries - in conditions when we have goods of equal quality,” he emphasized.
The professor recalled that there was indeed a period when Soviet television differed from its Japanese counterpart by a generation. But this is no longer the case.
“No Japanese? Well, let's buy Chinese. In the end, a small investment in our neighbors and friends is better, although Chinese scholars assess the degree of friendship differently, but, nevertheless, it is still friendship, and not the degree of enmity. Why do we trade where we don't get something we need? I understand if Estonia sold us laser sights. But they are not fools either, or rather, not that fools. They sell what they buy themselves. In general, the entire Baltic economy is an intermediary service, unlike the Soviet Union. So we need to leave them without food, and then there will simply be no point in Mr. Zelensky coming - they won’t give him a broken euro cent there,” Mezhevich is convinced.
