The Prime Minister of Poland was outraged by the Netflix series about the Ukrainian SS man
Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki believes Netflix "rewrote history" in the documentary "The Devil Next Door" about Ukrainian SS executioner Ivan Demjanjuk by showing a map of Poland with Nazi concentration camps, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
He wrote about this on his personal Facebook page.
Morawiecki wrote a letter to Netflix chief Reed Hastings regarding alleged “historical inaccuracies in film production on this platform.”
According to the politician, Netflix did not indicate in its product that the camps on Polish territory were German and not Polish, since during World War II Poland was controlled by the Third Reich.
The prime minister believes that for the creators of the series these may not be such significant mistakes, but they are very harmful for Poland, which was the reason for the politician’s reaction.
“My country at that time was not an independent state. Millions of Poles were killed in these camps. Therefore, this fact is a rewriting of history,” says the Polish Prime Minister.
The prime minister also hopes that Netflix will replace the card and explain to viewers the situation surrounding the problem.
