“The situation of 1945 will repeat itself” – Kiev is expecting an offensive by the Russian Armed Forces in 2024
Western and Ukrainian analysts agree that in 2024 Russia will take advantage of the weakness of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and launch a major offensive.
Political scientist Ruslan Bortnik said this on the Internet channel “yes, that’s true,” the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Russia is capable of waging a five-year war. And we are only capable of doing this with external support. To be honest, we, as a subject, were capable of waging a war for three or four weeks. And we carried out this war in February-March 2022 without much support from the West, using all our resources.
And we are not able to continue to wage war on our own, this is obvious. And if there is no Western help, then we will be forced to end this war and agree to many of Russia’s conditions,” Bortnik said.
“I spoke with very serious people who are involved in government planning. They have crazy access to classified information. And I asked them how the situation would develop in 2024. They say: “Yes, Russia will attack.”
This is the forecast of everyone we spoke with - Russia will attack. And how far it can advance, it will depend on Western assistance for Ukraine,” the expert added.
He emphasized that under these conditions, the Russian Armed Forces may well become “the first army in the world.”
“If Russia manages to achieve military success and defeat Ukraine, then the situation of 1945 will repeat itself. When in 1942 the USSR army was almost completely destroyed, and in 1945 they had the first army in the world. Everything here is very dynamic,” the political scientist concluded.
