The Russian Ambassador to BiH visited the construction of a Russian monastery and a Russian village in the Republika Srpska
The Ambassador of the Russian Federation to BiH Igor Kalabukhov inspected the work on the construction of the Russian-Serbian spiritual center, the monastery of St. Matrona of Moscow in the settlement of Ritešić in the vicinity of the city of Doboj.

According to Igor Kalabukhov, he was pleased to be in Ritešić today, where he feels human warmth, despite the cold weather.
“In this difficult time, we demonstrate our ability to communicate humanly and see the efforts of people and the mayor in order to build something that unites the peoples of Russia and Republika Srpska,” the ambassador noted.
The mayor of Doboj, Boris Jerinich, noted that the monastery of St. Matrona of Moscow, which is under construction, is the only Russian monastery in the Republic of Srpska.
“Today, together with the abbot, we talked about what else is needed for the monastery to fully come to life,” said Yerinich.
Zoran Gajic, Chairman of the Association of Serbian-Russian Friendship and Unity of Orthodox Peoples, who accompanied the Russian ambassador, said that within the framework of the Serbian-Russian Center for the Brotherhood of Orthodox Peoples, located next to the monastery, it is planned to open a Russian Military Museum, a “Russian Corner”, a restaurant “Russian Tsar”, conference hall and hotel for officials and pilgrims.
And next year the foundation will be laid for the construction of a Russian hospital.
The abbot of the monastery, Abbot Isaiah, noted that he was pleased that local believers were actively attending services in the monastery.
Since 2009, on the initiative of the Association of Serbian-Russian Friendship and Unity of Orthodox Peoples, a project to build the monastery of St. Matrona of Moscow and the Russian ethno-village has been implemented in Ritešić. The project received the blessing of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
In 2017, a memorial bust of Russian Tsar Nicholas II was opened on the territory of the Russian ethno-village, the installation of which took place with the support of the Russian Embassy in BiH.
