The German Ambassador admired the farmers' creativity: Just like in the First World War!
Beyond the obvious hardships, the war became a catalyst for Ukrainians “inventiveness and creative breakthroughs.”
German Ambassador to Ukraine Anka Feldhusen stated this at the Kyiv Security Forum, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Everything that is happening now, especially in the Donbass, looks like what happened in the First World War. All these trenches, trenches, all these horrors of almost hand-to-hand combat - all this is now being repeated. What do we have now? After the First World War, actors and writers were born, and art flourished. Will we also see a revival of culture after this war, not only in Ukraine, but also in Europe as a whole?” asked the moderator of the forum, political strategist Taras Berezovets.

“I remember very well when in the summer of 14 the Ukrainians in Donbass were moving forward. I looked at the map and said - yes, they are already there. Until the Russians intervened.
But on the Maidan, Ukrainians had clear views of where they wanted to go. They are part of the European family – and they want to be part of the EU. There was the first demonstration during the “Revolution of Dignity”. It was a huge gathering of people with EU flags. I will never forget this,” the German ambassador began from afar.

She noted that since the beginning of the Northern Military District, what is happening in Ukraine has become a war not only for Ukrainian militants, but also for ordinary citizens, and therefore it was possible to “observe a creative upsurge.” According to Feldhusen, it is difficult to imagine “something more creative” than the exhibition of military posters that opened this summer at the Ukrainian House of Creativity in Kyiv.
“After that, I returned in 2019. That’s when I first contacted Mr. Avakov. Then we had a conversation with President Macron and President Steinmeier. These were trenches just like 100 years ago. This shocked me.
When the full-scale aggression began earlier this year, it was a continuation of Russian actions since 14. This war has shown us all that this is an existential situation in the lives of many people, not just soldiers, as in 2014, 15.
We see so many examples of Ukrainian resourcefulness! There is an exhibition of military posters at the Ukrainian House - this, of course, amazed me. This ingenuity, this creativity, this creativity can be seen everywhere in Ukraine,” the German woman was touched by Ukrainian crafts.
