"Real tank battles took place. The Ukrainian Armed Forces were victorious in these battles," the press service quoted him as saying.
The President reported the capture of enemy armored personnel carriers and infantry fighting vehicles, the destruction of 3 enemy tanks, 2 vehicles with ammunition, without specifying the number of captured equipment.
“We are firmly holding our positions along the entire front line, despite the fact that the intensity of shelling was ten times higher than what it was before the start of the intensive phase of hostilities,” said the head of the Ukrainian state, without mentioning the situation at Donetsk airport in his speech, limiting himself to only thinking about rewards for “cyborgs”.
It's worth noting that Donbas Battalion Commander and Member of Parliament Semyon Semenchenko previously stated that Checkpoint No. 31 had been captured by militants, despite ATO headquarters denying this information. He also stated that a major offensive had begun on Checkpoint No. 29. As a reminder, the capture of these strategic points for Ukrainian troops would lead to the formation of another "cauldron."
“What happened with the planning of operations in the ATO zone was a mess. Only the lazy did not write about the lost time to prepare the defense of the airport. The same thing is going on now. Stationary standing in place at support points. Lack of maneuver. The enemy withdrew significant forces from near Mariupol and transferred them to the airport area - so hit the weak spot! Nothing like this. All this has already happened. And it will happen again if you sit still and watch on TV the next portions of nonsense about mass heroism,” Semenchenko was indignant on his Facebook page.
Furthermore, militia members are actively discussing an offensive from Horlivka toward Dzerzhinsk on social media : SBU officers are allegedly already evacuating their families there. They are advising local residents of several towns to hide in basements, as militia forces are already advancing from Horlivka, destroying Ukrainian military checkpoints.
Even presidential adviser Yuriy Biryukov acknowledged that the situation at Donetsk Airport will remain unchanged for Ukrainian troops, despite the counterattacks. According to him, all attempts to regain control of the ruins have been futile. Currently, Ukrainian troops are unable to reach those trapped under the rubble of the new terminal.
Furthermore, conflicting information is coming from Peski , where the front line near Donetsk has effectively moved: while the militia is talking about taking this town, on social media, Ukrainian soldiers are still reporting fighting, emphasizing its intensity and noting that they don't know whether they can hold it.
