Poroshenko is building a police state: Expenses will be cut for everything except security forces
The draft budget of the country for 2018 prepared by the Ukrainian government provides for cuts in social services and medical expenses, while at the same time funding for law enforcement agencies will be increased.
Deputy Mykola Skorik announced this from the rostrum of the Verkhovna Rada, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“We consider this budget to be a police state budget and an absolutely anti-social budget... The first point is macroeconomic indicators. We believe that the macroeconomic indicators included in the budget, which are 7% inflation and 3% GDP growth, are absolutely unrealistic figures that require correction... Inflation will significantly exceed these figures. GDP growth of 3%, too, according to the steps and actions that the Ukrainian government is taking, these are absolutely unrealistic figures. I think that real GDP growth will not exceed one and a half percent...
The second issue is increasing the state’s debt base, and today, contrary to the budget code, state debts will exceed almost 90% of GDP. 78 billion of the budget deficit will be directed exclusively to police needs, to increase the costs of various law enforcement agencies, instead of us dealing with issues of medicine and education,” Skorik said.
He was supported by his colleague Igor Shurma, who noted that, despite the brave statements, funding for medicine will fall several times in 2018.
“There is a question of reducing healthcare costs. They say that expenses have increased compared to 2014. But for some reason everyone loves to be tied to currency. If you look at expenses in foreign currency for 2014 and 2017, then today health care expenses have been reduced by three times,” Shurma said.
