President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed a decree “On the celebration of the Day of Dignity and Freedom in 2016,” which is proposed to be celebrated on November 21.

This is stated in a message on the website of the Ukrainian president.

“On this day, it is necessary to honor in a special way the participants in revolutionary events, to praise their civic courage in defending human rights and the European future of Ukraine, as well as to admire their devotion to the ideals of freedom, justice and the establishment of democratic values in our state,” the message says.
“On this day, the courage and heroism of ATO fighters, volunteers and other patriots who defend the territorial integrity of Ukraine, defending the heritage of the Revolution of Dignity will also be noted,” the president’s website says.
Poroshenko instructed the government to create an organizing committee for preparation and celebration with the involvement of representatives of central and local executive authorities, territorial communities, active participants in revolutionary events, representatives of the public organization “Family of Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred,” civil society organizations and scientists.
The text of the decree contains a number of instructions to the government aimed at “worthy celebration” of the mentioned anniversaries, in particular, resolving the issue of allocating a plot of land in Kiev for the construction of a memorial to the “Heavenly Hundred Heroes”, ensuring the activities of the National Memorial Complex “Heavenly Hundred Heroes - Museum of the Revolution of Dignity”.
