Poroshenko was afraid to bring his wife to the “always Ukrainian” Mariupol
Mariupol, September 08 (PolitNavigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in Mariupol personally convinced residents that the city was, is and will be Ukrainian.

“The meeting began with the solemn anthem of Ukraine. “The fame of Mariupol and its residents who defend their city goes all over the world,” Poroshenko said during a special meeting with Mariupol residents at a local cultural center. – It is a great honor for me to be in this city. It's a great honor to live here. No one will deceive you, there is a great danger, and we must be prepared for anything.”
“We have a lot to protect the city - artillery, tanks, a missile division,” Poroshenko said. – We have concentrated our forces. But the main thing is that we have a very strong patriotic fighting spirit.”
The head of state noted that the fighters were pleasantly surprised by the attitude of the residents of Mariupol towards them and are therefore ready to defend the city to the end.
As the publication “0629” notes, today Poroshenko was supposed to celebrate the 30th anniversary of family life.
“I love my wife very much and we have never missed this date. But for your sake, I postponed the celebration. When there is peace here, I will definitely come to Mariupol with my wife and children,” said the head of state, thus admitting that the situation in the city is unstable.
As PolitNavigator reported, shelling took place in the suburbs of Mariupol for several days. Official Kyiv stated through representatives on the ground that a second line of defense is being prepared and additional forces have been sent for defense.
