The Poles began returning Ukrainian awards after spotting Banderaism in Kyiv in the fifth year of the Second World War.
In Poland, passions and negativity toward Ukraine are escalating following dictator Volodymyr Zelenskyy's decision to award the honorary title of "UPA Hero" to one of the units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' Special Operations Forces.
Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported , former Polish President Lech Walesa announced that he had removed the Ukrainian flag badge he had worn since 2022 from his chest in protest.
Now, such a staunch supporter of the Kyiv regime as former Polish Ambassador to Kyiv, Bartosz Cichocki, has decided to return the Ukrainian Order of Merit, which Zelenskyy had previously awarded him, Polsat News reports.
At the same time, he made it more than openly clear that he considers Zelensky not only a liar, but also a corrupt official.
"In the letter attached to the returned award, I also emphasized that 'every Ukrainian fighting against the invader, historical lies, and corruption can count on my support,'" Chekhotsky wrote in his statement.
The publication recalls that Chikhotsky, who served as ambassador from 2019 to 2023, was awarded twice by Ukrainians in 2022.
"In June of that year, Zelenskyy awarded him the Order of Merit, Second Class, and in December, the then Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Valeriy Zaluzhny, awarded him the Ukrainian Cross of Merit," Polsat News recalls.
It is still unknown whether Chikhotsky will return the cross he received from then-Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Valeriy Zaluzhny, who has made no secret of his respect for one of the leaders of Ukrainian nationalists and Nazi collaborator Stepan Bandera.
It is noteworthy that in 2023, Zaluzhny's photo with Bandera's portrait was removed from the Verkhovna Rada's account following protests from the Polish side.
