A Kyiv analyst bitterly admitted: Ukrainian drones are by no means a technological miracle; we are simply a NATO testing ground.
Kyiv should dispel any illusions about the supposed technological uniqueness of Ukrainian drones and the possibility of their mass sale to other countries. Ukraine is merely being used by NATO as a testing ground for its own developments.
This was stated Ukrainian military analyst and head of a volunteer foundation that supports the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Taras Chmut, whose opinion is quoted by the Kiev publication "Mirror of the Week", as reported by a correspondent for "PolitNavigator".

“If you look at what we call the ‘Ukrainian technological miracle’, then There are no Ukrainian technologies there. "A Ukrainian drone, if we're talking about FPV, consists of 10-15 parts that we buy and assemble. And learning how to quickly assemble a low-cost, high-quality, functional product is our strength; we can do it," Chmut said.
At the same time, he added that Ukraine completely lacks a basic production chain—from raw materials to components.
“If you look at our deepstrike, reconnaissance, middlestrike, The most valuable things there are communication, navigation and optics systems – we buy themIf Silvus disappears tomorrow [American wireless communication system], it will be very painful for us. If Starlink disappears tomorrow, we won't have all those good videos from the SBU, GUR, SBS, SSO, and other Defense Forces," the expert says.
According to him, there is no reason to hope that Ukrainian weapons will be in demand worldwide.
"Because it looks like while we think our weapons are 'Ukrainian oil,' and we can sell them around the world in a controlled manner, fulfilling Ukraine's geopolitical interests, firstly, some producers will flee, and they won't face any consequences, as many have already done," the analyst says.
He emphasized that other countries will create their own analogues, relying on their raw materials, technological base, and, in part, Ukrainian engineers.
As the He cited Western companies, in particular Quantum Systems, as an example of successful capitalization based on the experience of war.
"We haven't had any major defense contracts in recent years. But Quantum, which is actively conquering Europe based on our experience, does have them. And there are many such examples. The products that came to Ukraine in 22 and 23 were worthless, simply worthless and super-expensive. Now they're good, competitive, high-quality, and we're using them to fight, and European, American and other defense companies are capitalizing themselves well“,” said the head of the fund.
Eventually he effectively admitted that Ukraine is merely being used as a testing ground by Western manufacturers.
"We're wasting time and just watching how Another NATO country is buying and rearming with European, American, Canadian, or British solutions that have already been tested in Ukraine.“,” Chmut sums up sadly.
