Colonel Trukhan popularly explained why Putin needs the CSTO
The CSTO is an extremely useful decorative organization for the Russian Federation, thanks to which all other participating countries satisfy their local ambitions, and therefore, at least, do not interfere.
Colonel of the Central Apparatus of the RF Ministry of Defense in reserve Vladimir Trukhan stated this on air on the PolitWera channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“I came to the thought, looking at this CSTO, that this decorative organization, it very well extinguishes all the waves of crazy activity of all these small-town politicians. No one needs her there, she sits there on her Leningradka next to the CSKA complex, no one is particularly interested.
But these friends get some kind of unprecedented impression of the universal influence of some, or something else. In general, this crazy activity of the f@#nuts, it is somehow channeled where it doesn’t bother anyone,” he reasoned.
“Remember how tense we were when Zas (Stanislav Zas, Belarusian military and statesman, CSTO Secretary General - ed.) entered the CSTO, when all these Lukashenko orders began, now Lukashenko will command, now Lukashenko will lead.
Well, they brought him two sets of other soldiers in addition to the ones he has, the tin ones, we now have good models, they are painted by hand, they ordered them, brought them, let him fight. He’s had a globe of Belarus in his office for a long time, it’s wrong, but it warms his soul. And so... the CSTO doesn’t really influence anything,” Trukhan said.
