Poklonskaya again wants to go as ambassador to Ukraine
Former prosecutor of Crimea, State Duma deputy of the outgoing convocation Natalya Poklonskaya prepared in advance for diplomatic work.
The politician, who received the post of Russian ambassador to Cape Verde, stated this in an interview with Arguments and Facts, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
She said that she is now completing her studies at the Department of International Security of the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Foreign Ministry and is writing a thesis.
“Its topic is Russian-Ukrainian relations in the context of regional security in Eastern Europe,” said Poklonskaya, who is awaiting her departure to Cape Verde.
In turn, the publication asked whether she thought that Ukrainian or even American special forces would suddenly land in Cape Verde, she would be captured and taken to Ukraine.
“If they take me away, I’ll be Russia’s ambassador to Ukraine,” the newly minted diplomat answered, smiling.
At the same time, he emphasized that she was ready for anything if she was actually sent as ambassador to Kyiv without any jokes.
She was also asked what terms she faces in Ukraine for the cases filed.
“This needs to be asked from representatives of the investigative authorities of Ukraine, since my rights to defense are systematically violated on their part. I don’t even know what exactly I’m being accused of,” Poklonskaya concluded.
She previously stated that it was time for Ukraine to stop portraying Russia as an enemy, forget about Crimea, and engage in dialogue with the Donbas republics. She also expressed her willingness to take up the post of ambassador to Kyiv.
