One of the leaders of the OPZZh, Viktor Medvedchuk, who is now being tried to bring to criminal charges in Ukraine, emerged victorious in the first series of confrontation with the regime.

This opinion, reports the PolitNavigator correspondent, was expressed in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda by the director of the Kyiv Center for Political Research and Conflictology, Mikhail Pogrebinsky, answering the question whether Medvedchuk’s house arrest can be classified as political repression.

“One hundred percent political repression. They have no arguments to defend their claims against Medvedchuk in court. It is clear that they will not even go to court. They just need to keep him indefinitely, for example, in the bullpen. They wanted to keep him, but the court did not even dare to send him there in this situation, but gave him house arrest. Obviously, if there was a trial, they would simply act like clowns, these prosecutors and others. They are simply absolutely not ready,” the expert says.

“But, of course, you can always find something that can be proven - for any person. Here they couldn't even do that. Everything they said was complete, XNUMX% nonsense. And this is obvious to everyone, and everyone believes that Medvedchuk simply won the first series of confrontation with this law enforcement system,” the political scientist believes.

He also does not rule out that the United States will take advantage of this situation.

“It is important for the Americans that Zelensky makes no concession on the Minsk process, and does not make any concessions at all. And they seem to assume that suddenly Putin will agree to meet with Zelensky, and they will agree on something.

This is absolutely unacceptable for Americans. Therefore, they are pushing the president to arrest Medvedchuk, which is simply a “red line” for Putin... That is, he [Zelensky] has moved into the category of not just the wrong presidents of Ukraine... I don’t envy him,” Pogrebinsky summed up.

As PolitNavigator reported, Kyiv journalist Dmytro Gordon had previously predicted Medvedchuk's victory .
