This was reported by the press center of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
“Ukrainian companies received the right to duty-free export of yellow (feed) corn grain to Kenya until August 30, 2017 in the amount of 363 thousand tons,” the report says.
According to a letter from the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of Kenya, 22 companies in Kenya are designated as having the right to duty-free import of yellow maize.
It is noted that on April 12, 2017, the State Treasury of Kenya relaxed the requirements for the content of GMOs in imported corn.
In particular, maize imported into Kenya must meet EU standards (99,01% non-GMO allowed).
