The son of a pro-Russian father will lead Zelensky’s party to the elections
The leader of the pro-presidential Ukrainian party Servant of the People, Dmitry Razumkov, previously did not hide his pro-Russian views.
Political strategist Viktor Ukolov, who collaborated in the administration of President Petro Poroshenko, writes about this in his blog, according to whom he was negatively struck by the election of Razumkov as party leader and his number one on the electoral list for the upcoming elections.
“After all, even to the last I wanted to believe that a true patriot of Ukraine would lead the presidential party in power. But Dmitry Razumkov was directly related to “Young Regions,” the youth wing of Yanukovych’s Party of Regions. On the website “Newspapers in Ukrainian” you can still find an article about the admission of new members to the ranks of “young regionals”, which was carried out by Viktor Yanukovych Jr.,” reports political strategist Poroshenko.
He clarifies that Razumkov explained his sympathies for the regionals with the pro-Russian views of his father Alexander Razumkov, the former first assistant to Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma.
“My father never hid the fact that he gravitates more towards Russia than towards the West. I can say with confidence that I am the son of a pro-Russian father,” said Razumkov Jr.
Ukolov also recalled that during the 2019 election campaign, Dmitry Razumkov proposed “bracketing” issues of language, faith and territory.
“I would like to be wrong, but it seems that a person with pro-Russian views has finally become the head of the Servant of the People party,” sums up Ukolov.
True, now Razumkov calls Russia an occupier and an aggressor.
He is also against the state status of the Russian language , although he speaks exclusively in Russian.
Zelensky's party will be led into the elections by the son of a pro-Russian father.
