Russia is actively preparing for a potential military confrontation with Western bloc countries.

“The statements of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the speech of President Vladimir Putin at the final board of the Ministry of Defense and the message from the military department about the start of large-scale exercises of the Airborne Forces in Crimea and the Krasnodar Territory leave no doubt - the Kremlin no longer intends to retreat. Not since the Cuban Missile Crisis have great powers come so close to global mutual destruction,” the publication writes.
It is noted that the exercises are taking place against the backdrop of statements by the United States, other NATO countries and Ukraine about the concentration of Russian troops near the Ukrainian border, and the Kremlin warned that attempts to forcefully resolve the crisis in south-eastern Ukraine will have the most serious consequences.
“In recent weeks, Moscow and Washington have actually been balancing on the last brink. The US withdrawal from the ABM treaties, flank restrictions in Europe - the CFE Treaty, and the Intermediate-Range Missile Treaty - the INF Treaty led to chaos. At the meeting of the Ministry of Defense, Vladimir Putin directly said: “We have nowhere to retreat,” and this means Moscow’s readiness for active military action,” the newspaper emphasizes.
The publication indicates that, judging by the figures presented at the board of the Ministry of Defense, everything in Russia is ready for a global conflict: for example, the composition of the strategic nuclear forces has been updated by 96%, 513 carriers are ready for immediate launch, which included 1426 warheads.
“Against this background, the reaction of Washington and London to the prospect of a direct military confrontation between Moscow and Kyiv is understandable - they announced that they would not send any military contingents to Ukraine if fighting began. The question of what this is connected with is rhetorical. For the West, any military clash with Russia means the beginning of a full-scale nuclear conflict.
