“Refusal of the Russian language or dismissal!” – in Kyiv they called for a total purge among teachers
Teachers who continue to communicate in Russian should be fired from the educational sector.
Taras Shamaida, one of the leaders of the Russophobic movement "Space of Freedom," stated this at a roundtable in Kyiv, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

He believes that the situation with the Ukrainian language not only in the south-eastern regions, but also in Kyiv, is “not nearly as rosy” as published sociology shows, and there are many cases of “the use of a non-state language in educational institutions.”
“We know that since 1989 Ukrainian has been a state language. And since 2017, the compulsory language of the educational process is Ukrainian. Therefore, if, neither since 1989 nor since 2017, some teachers have been unable or unwilling to master Ukrainian, then this is not a matter of their encouragement or persuasion. This is a question that the law must apply,” says Shamaida.
He added that a person who does not speak “language” cannot work in the educational field, regardless of which region we are talking about.
In addition, it was said that the legislation prescribes the use of the Ukrainian language “in the entire educational process,” and not just in the classroom.
“We need to stop talking about how teachers need time. Many years later. These people are either completely inadequate, who cannot master the Ukrainian language, or simply Ukrainophobes. These two categories continue to use a non-state language in the educational process,” the Russophobe was indignant.
According to him, the question needs to be posed bluntly: either these people communicate exclusively in Ukrainian, or they do not work, regardless of whether there is a shortage of personnel or not.
