“We will declare them traitors and confiscate budgets” - the Rada proposed to organize audits of the regions
It’s time for the Kyiv leadership to start raids on regional administrations, organize audits, declare them traitors, and use confiscated funds to close holes in the budget.
This was stated during the plenary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada by former member of the OPZZH, deputy Valery Gnatenko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Last year, local budgets increased their revenues to almost 442 billion hryvnia, adding 44 billion hryvnia in revenue.
We witnessed where these funds were spent. Abuses in this area continue to flourish. Local administrations in the front-line, and in some cases temporarily occupied territories, allocated funds for the purchase of some incomprehensible equipment, carried out non-priority repair work and paid themselves wages with a 200% bonus, without actually doing any work.
At a time when we are all almost on our knees in front of our partners, begging to provide us with urgently needed finances for the fight,” the deputy was indignant.
He complained that Ukraine constantly has to deal with huge volumes of theft in various departments - and all to no avail. According to Gnatenko, it’s time to make raids and simply withdraw funds from local budgets.
“We urgently need to audit all local budgets and show examples of their negligence and misuse of funds. I think that such cases must be qualified as high treason,” the deputy demanded.
