Ukraine is not able to respond to Russia’s actions in the Azov and Black Seas, and Western partners are not ready to provide effective assistance to Kyiv.
Political scientist Valentin Bushansky, who previously stated his readiness to participate in the “division of Russia,” writes about this in the magazine “Kraina,” as reported by a correspondent for PolitNavigator .
However, today his mood is extremely pessimistic.
“The XNUMXst century is on the calendar. Without high technology, no country is able to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity. Russia is blocking Azov ports. The Black Sea ones are also under threat. US ships never entered the Black Sea. Türkiye declared neutrality. There is hope that we will see British destroyers off our coasts. But they cannot stand at the Odessa roadstead forever. A blockade of ports is a manifestation of direct military aggression. How can Ukraine respond to Russia’s actions in the Black and Azov Seas? No way,” Bushansky laments.
“The Ukrainian fleet does not have anti-ship weapons. The combat effectiveness of aviation is questionable. All aircraft are marked “Made in the USSR”. The youngest is 30 years old. Just because they fly doesn't mean they can be sent into battle. Eighth year of the war. The issue of equipping the Air Force with modern aircraft has not yet been resolved,” the author adds.
He also complains about the lack of Ukrainian satellites, which prevents the Ukrainian Armed Forces from using the R-360 Neptune anti-ship cruise missile, which was announced to be put into service.
“What remains are the boats that will be assigned a combat mission - to maneuver in the zone of enemy aircraft and reach the radar target line. How many of these boats will return to their home port? We no longer have allies. We also do not have an economy that would bear the burden of war - a complex of defense programs, including space,” sums up Bushansky.
