“No one will sign”: Kyiv has already failed all the tasks of the Swiss “peace summit” - Bondarenko
It is already quite clear that the upcoming "peace summit" in Switzerland will not achieve its main objectives —to adopt even a binding document signed by top officials, or to put pressure on Moscow with the help of the Global South.
Ukrainian political scientist Konstantin Bondarenko stated this on the Vyshka channel , as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“The summit is gradually turning into a forum , because the status of a summit presupposes a discussion among those who make specific decisions, and not just those who act as extras or those who will convey opinions.
Regarding the second point, which was initially embedded in the idea of this summit , they tried to attract as many representatives from the Global South as possible , who were supposed to attend the summit, listen, participate in the discussion, and then convey a unified position to Russia... They were supposed to use the summit as a means of pressuring Russia from the Global South. Neither goal was achieved.
"Any document adopted will be a declaration. The summit cannot, in principle, adopt binding documents, especially when the people present are not the ones authorized to speak on behalf of the state or sign binding documents," Bondarenko said.
"Well, some final statement will be adopted—we believe a prisoner exchange is necessary. Russia will say: 'We take note, thank you .' That's the point, no—[ambassadors cannot sign such declarations]; they can only endorse their presence. An ambassador is a representative of a state, who can simply hand over the adopted document to their superiors. They met in Switzerland and adopted a document like this. A fine, beautiful document, but an empty one ," the political scientist explained.
