Ukraine under “Russian occupation” was ruled by the Soviet Union and acquired territories.
Political scientist Dmitry Raimov stated this on air during the video blog "Yes, That's True," reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Raimov refused to believe that before 1991 Ukraine was occupied and discriminated against.
“I really don’t share the position in which they tell us that we have been occupied all these years. “Wow, occupation, that at some point, people from Ukraine, the people who led the Communist Party of Ukraine, these are two general secretaries, become the leaders of this entire huge empire and actually rule this empire,” the expert said.
“For a long time, the so-called Dnepropetrovsk clan in the upper management of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union was quite influential. First Khrushchev comes, then Brezhnev comes, who comes from Ukraine, people who adequately understand what is happening. At the same time, one of them transfers, as they say, donates, in fact transfers Crimea under the control of the Ukrainian SSR. This is a wow occupation, I’ll tell you,” Raimov said.
