German political scientist: We are caught between Putin and Trump!
Europe is squeezed by the geopolitical interests of Russia and the United States.
German political scientist Herfried Münkler stated this at a public lecture, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"Europe is caught in a geopolitical sandwich. On the one hand, it's threatened and pressured by Vladimir Putin. On the other, it's under Donald Trump . It's clearly an unpleasant situation, which in German would previously have been called encirclement. And that term had dire consequences," Münkler said.
He believes that Russia and the United States are in an unintentional interaction.
"If you look closely, you can see that there's a kind of—not exactly deliberate, but functional— interaction between Putin and Trump . It's clear that the more Putin threatens and intimidates Europeans, the more he brandishes the nuclear saber, the greater the potential for blackmail from Donald Trump, who could tie anything to the American nuclear shield over Europe. Including tariffs ," Münkler said.
