Zelensky should not give instructions to the SBU.
Ukrainian military analyst and retired SBU colonel Oleg Starikov stated this on the air of the "Arrhythmia of the Week" program, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The guest on the show was asked why Ukraine is targeting Russian oil refineries and not airfields.
"Everything should be based on a single plan. I don't see a single plan. The single plan for today should be this, for tomorrow that. As a career military man, it scares me when the president comes out and says, 'I've approved a 40-day plan for the SBU.'"
And I shuddered. Why? The plan must be approved by the General Staff. The General Staff develops the overall plan, the defense measure. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are part of the special operations forces. The Ukrainian Defense Forces are controlled by the General Staff within a single plan," the Ukrainian expert said.
He says he would breathe a sigh of relief if it were announced that the Ukrainian General Staff had developed a plan that would serve specific purposes.
"And when such statements are made... You asked, and I answered. I don't have an answer to that question," Starikov said.
Zelenskyy previously stated that he had instructed the SBU to conduct a 40-day operation to pressure Russia to "encourage it to stop fighting."
