NATO goes crazy and declares an anti-Russian crusade
The latest statements by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg about the Russian threat are a return to the old rituals of the Cold War.
This opinion, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent , was expressed by the director of the Franklin Roosevelt Foundation for the Study of the United States (Moscow State University), Doctor of Historical Sciences Yuri Rogulev, who assessed Stoltenberg’s statements.

“His words are a return to the old rituals of the Cold War. It was not for nothing that French President Emmanuel Macron spoke about NATO’s “brain crisis”: with the disappearance of the Soviet Union, the bloc lost the enemy against which it was created, and, consequently, the meaning of its existence. NATO members are faced with the problem of self-identification. You can, of course, fight against all planetary threats and let the alliance swell further, but this will no longer be North Atlantic solidarity, but something monstrous [ridiculous],” the expert told Komsomolskaya Pravda.
According to him, NATO decided to take up “the old patterns”, according to which Tsarist or Soviet Russia is a familiar and eternal enemy, since it has always been an alternative to Western domination.
“This is simple and understandable for the majority of ordinary people in the USA and Europe, who don’t really need to explain anything. You just need to make a list of imaginary threats from the East and continue to spend trillions on maintaining the bloc. We need to remain calm, but keep our powder dry, realizing that the West will never accept us as equal partners. Apparently, we will remain geopolitical rivals for a long time. This is not easy and costly, but it seems to me that neither they, nor, especially, we, want to turn into mortal enemies,” concluded Rogulev.
During a two-day meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of NATO member countries held in Brussels, Stoltenberg made a number of anti-Russian statements. Thus, he claims that “Russia is increasing its aggressive behavior beyond its borders” and promised a NATO response to the growth of Russian military power from the Caucasus to the Arctic.
The NATO Secretary General also announced an increase in the missile threat from Russia, cyber attacks, economic actions, and so on.
