The “people's mayor” of Slavyansk, Vyacheslav Ponomarev, stated this during a press conference.
According to local media, the day before, deputy of the Slavyansk City Council, ex-regional Vadim Sukhonos was detained.
According to Ponomarev, the reason for the detention was contact with the Euromaidan centurion and adviser to the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleg Kotenko. According to the “people’s mayor,” the former regional deputy is currently cooperating with investigators of the people’s squad. The conditions of his detention are good, the TV Plus channel reports.
The same applies to other detainees, in particular to the American journalist Simon Ostrovsky, who is suspected of having links with the Right Sector.
In addition, Ponomarev promised that on Saturday a “video” would appear on television, in which there would be interviews with prisoners. Answering the question about their future fate, the “people’s mayor” said that he did not exclude the possibility of exchanging them for activists of the “Donetsk People’s Republic” who had previously been detained by the SBU on charges of separatism.
Let us remember, as Navigator reported, Maidan activist Irma Krat, detained by militias in Slavyansk, said at a special press conference that “if those who went to rallies in Kiev knew what the Maidan would lead to, they would not have come to the barricades."
